Duran Duran forced to reschedule their three remaining shows at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre New York

November 10th, 2007

Press Release – for Immediate Release

Duran Duran forced to reschedule their three remaining shows at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre New York (tonight: Saturday 10th, Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th) due to Local One Union Strike action

Band members working around the clock to find alternative venue to reschedule shows for early next week

All tickets for the three rescheduled Broadway dates will be honored

At 10 am this morning (Saturday) the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees announced that they had authorized a Local One strike against the League of American Theaters and Producers, forcing Duran Duran to reschedule tonight’s show, together with two others slated to take place early next week at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Broadway, NYC.

Planned to be the eighth show of their ten night residency on the Great White Way, tonight’s sold out concert will be rescheduled, along with Monday and Tuesday’s shows, at an alternative venue in Manhattan. Details of the new location will be announced as soon as plans have been finalized but band manager, Wendy Laister, said this morning that she was hopeful she would be able to secure a larger concert hall for Monday and Tuesday evening that would allow everyone who had a ticket for today to be accommodated, as well as those holding tickets for the two final nights.

The band are extremely disappointed with this latest turn of events – as their historic Broadway run has been in the planning for many months. With seven shows already under their belt at the beautiful 47th Street Theatre, the band were looking forward to their three final nights leading up to the release of their highly anticipated new album ‘Red Carpet Massacre’ which will hit stores in the US on Tuesday November 13th (and a few days later around the rest of the world) .

Whilst sympathetic to the union position, the band know that their fans have traveled from across the globe for this run of dates and are extremely sorry that tonight’s event cannot go ahead as planned.

Fans should continue to monitor the band’s website – www.duranduran.com for further details, which management hope can be posted by the end of the day. All tickets and VIP packages for the remaining shows will be honored at the rescheduled dates, however, if fans are unable to attend any of these, refunds will be available from the point of purchase.
