Highly-Anticipated Summer Music and Fashion Series Launches on July 20 with the Ultimate British Invasion in Montauk
Series Start Features Poolside Performances by Vince Clarke of Depeche Mode, Yaz & Erasure, Dirty Vegas and Roger Taylor of Duran Duran
(July 2, 2013, Montauk NY) – The Montauk Beach House (www.thembh.com) announces the launch of Sound Waves @ The House - a seven week fashion and music series. The summer series kicks off July 20, poolside at the exclusive boutique hotel and continues every Saturday from NOON to 7PM through August 31. The highly anticipated summer series presents top DJs and live musical performances, high-end fashion shows and art installations to an invitation-only crowd.
Sound Waves @ The House commences in grand style on June 20th with the U.S. debut DJ set by Vince Clarke of Depeche Mode, Yaz and Erasure fame. Additional special performers to be announced. On July 27th Sound Wave @ The House will feature Roger Taylor of Duran Duran and Dirty Vegas. Over the next five Saturdays, the series will continue to feature both internationally recognized artists such as well as emerging talent in exclusive performances.

The Montauk Beach House, which opened last July, has a philosophy focused on creating a fun and engaging environment for its guests. Among the caliber of sought-after music performances have been Paul Oakenfold, Mark Ronson, The Young Empires, Andy Rourke and Paul Sevigny. In keeping with the hotel’s lively and tasteful atmosphere, the intention of Sound Waves @ The House is one of stylish sophistication. Guests will enjoy coveted music and fashion elements while relaxing poolside in the extensive day-lounge and cabana sections of the 10,000-square-foot playground of The Montauk Beach House.
Sound Waves @ The House will be announcing its line-up of additional music and fashion talent, as well as brand partners shortly. The series is produced by Syndicate-5, founded by Gen Art Founder Ian Gerard - whose team is recognized for helping new talent break into the arts and entertainment arena for the past 15 years. Sound Waves @ The House’s music is being curated by Mathew Thomas (ConcertPass™).
Roger Taylor is best known as Duran Duran’s drummer, however, some may be surprised to know that his career as a DJ began over a decade ago. In the 90’s Roger and a friend teamed up to produce music and DJ together releasing a string of underground dance records, culminating with "Love Is Like Oxygen,” which was a Top 10 hit on the U.K. dance charts. In 2003 Roger began a long running residency at London's Met Bar mixing and performing with the likes of Slash, David Gray, Marilyn Manson, and Joaquin Phoenix. Most recently, Roger was part of Louie Vega's residency at the Blue Marlin in Ibiza.
Having been with Duran Duran since the beginning, Roger is an integral part of their 70 million records sold, 18 American hit singles and 30 UK Top 30 Tunes. His passion for electronica and 'four on the four ' dance grooves played a key part on their new Mark Ronson produced album 'All You Need Is Now' which reached no.1 in 15 different countries.
The seven-event series runs from Saturday July 20 to Saturday August 31 with both grand opening and closing celebrations. All events in the series are complimentary and by invitation-only.
