JOHN

Music of the Year

I am always all over the map, you know me. I really like the Megan Thee Stallion album, I listened to it a few times and started to warm to it. A few songs surprised me. I like Simon’s WHOOOSH! playlists, there’s always interesting. I watch quite a lot of TV and a really good TV show has a really good playlist.

This is my favourite song, so inquiring minds need to know! Thanks in advance! Sarah

“Actually, Steve programmed a Linn drum II and then played… read more

Avant Gard Composer Harold Budd dies aged 84

December, 9th, 2020

I am sad to hear that the great composer, musician and master of minimalism, Harold Budd has left us.

The beauty of his work was a gift to us all, calm and understated. I have spent endless hours listening to his collaborations with the Cocteau Twins and Brian Eno, which are sublimely elegant compositions. From the many gems he produced, for me it is The Pearl, that remains an unsurpassed masterpiece of its genre.
